Gentry Collins: Down with Obamacare…
…that seems to be the message from the candidate for the RNC chair, Gentry Collins…
…and I must say I like it! One gripe with the current chair, Michael Steele, is that he didn’t put much effort into get-out-the-vote activities, and this is an idea from his challenger to help with those efforts. The idea is to put referenda on state ballots in 2012 similar to the one that passed here in Missouri with 70% of the vote back in August that declared Obamacare illegal. This will serve as a further incentive for conservatives to get out and vote as there will be an easily identified issue at stake, not just a choice between a couple of politicians…
…heres a quote from Collins…
We at the RNC (should) lead a campaign to put referenda on the ballot to repeal Obama Care in as many states as state law allows, which is nearly two dozen. What that does, I think, is prepares us for 2012 from a turnout perspective. But in 2011, it gives some constructive, positive place for all the energy that exists in the grassroots, in particular in the tea party, for conservative change.
That is exactly what needs to happen. Because if the grassroots don’t stay energized, we’ll be headed right back to 2008 and business as usual…
