Victory! Sweet, but what will the aftertaste be?

So much for the Republicans being an endangered species, huh?

After the epic victories for the Republicans this past Tuesday I think it is safe to say that that story was simply pathetic hopefulness on the part of deranged liberals…  Nothing new to report there.

I haven’t posted much about the elections because theres not much to say.  Conservative ideals won the day.  I couldn’t be happier.  Well, if we had won the Senate back too I would be happier, but that would be like not being happy that the Chiefs won the Super Bowl because they only one by three points.  Oh well, we’ll do better next time!

I don’t think I really need to go into detail about what happened if you don’t know by now you obviously don’t care that much, but here is a great video from Sarah Palin indicating that yes there is “morning in America.”

Enough with the gloating, as Boehner said, “This is not a time to celebrate.”  Here is some truth, the Republicans had better bear down and not give an inch on the conservative principles that gave them this victory, or they will get the same, if not worse, treatment in two years.  Some food for thought, there is a group of people who strongly espouse these conservative principles who would be more than happy to gain Tea Party support should the Republicans fail to follow through on their promises.  The Constitution Party, I know eyes are rolling; but do some study you just might find you like what you see.  That is, if you have strong Conservative political beliefs like me…

…an apt analogy for the pain about to be inflicted on liberals nationwide, but the key word is “about.”  It is not done yet. Tomorrow you must get out and vote to complete this take-down. The simple fact is that the tiger has not yet caught the guy.  Who knows?  This guy could have a friend with a huge gun about to come to his aid…  The point is, get out and vote to see this thing through to the end, simply scaring the crap out of them isn’t good enough.  We’ve got to bring them down.

Oh darn, we “forgot”…

is what Channel 28 in Delaware told Christine O’Donnell after they did not air her thirty minute infomercial on Sunday night and again this morning.

Despite this her video is still getting out through the efforts of bloggers around the country.  Here it is if you want to see it or embed it… As I am posting this, it appears that this video has been watched at least 14,000 times, and it was only posted this morning…

More good stuff from Vicky Hartzler…

A couple more ads for Vicky as she tries to take down Ike “the skeleton” Skelton…

…indeed he did leave us, and now  he’s trying to lie to us…

Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised by the fact that Ike is a boldfaced liar.  According to some democrats, lying is the key to success…

Good stuff from the Meg Whitman campaign out in California as she tries to beat Jerry Brown for Governor…

From HotAir, a railing indictment of the actions of the 111th. Congress, most of which Ike Skelton had a prominent hand in…

“The passage of ObamaCare shattered the myth of the “moderate Democrat” for a generation. Every one of them is an accomplice to this radical offense against the American people.  Private comments from Congressional representatives made it clear they knew exactly what they were doing to us.  They saddled us with a system designed to fail, and pave the way for something even worse: single-payer socialized medicine.”

Ike will try to tell you he voted against ObamaCare, but he only did so after getting permission from Nancy Pelosi and voting for every procedural vote leading up to it including the unconstitutional “Slaughter Strategy”

What terror threat?

Yesterday we were all made aware of the fact that planes were being held and packages searched in an effort to stop a terrorist plot. According to the Washington Post two packages were found that were,

“mailed from Yemen and addressed to synagogues in Chicago contained explosive material and represented a ‘credible terrorist threat,’ President Obama said Friday”

Thanks to quick action by U.S. counter-terrorism officials they were able to keep these packages from getting through.

“The two packages were intercepted at separate locations, one on a UPS plane at East Midlands Airport near Nottingham, England, and the other at a FedEx facility in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Officials provided no details on the kind of explosives found, but they said they were looking at the possibility that the substance used was PETN, the same explosive used in the Christmas Day plot (read ‘pantie-bomber’).”

This seems to be a serious threat, despite what Democrat Betty McCollum of MN-04 may think about al-Queda “not posing a threat.”

Video courtesy of Republican challenger Teresa Collett who is trying to take the MN-04 seat from the five term incumbent, McCollum.

But never fear, our ‘fearless leader’ will not be deterred from ferocious campaigning in an effort to save some seats for his party. According to Yahoo News,

“The White House says President Barack Obama’s weekend travel plans to campaign ahead of the midterm elections will not be affected by a terror probe on three continents.”

Good to know that keeping a stranglehold on our liberty is more important to him than personal safety or national security.  May it all be for naught,  in three days we can make him wish he would of just gone to the golf course instead…

Three more days, make it happen…

Do you want to work for the CHI-COMS?

Looking into the future?

Not if we turn out country around.  It can start in 12 days…

Vicky Hartzler and Ike Skelton candidate forum…

On October 12, this past Tuesday, Ike Skelton made his one and only appearance with Vicky Hartzler at a candidate forum in St. Robert, MO.  He has been ducking and dodging offers to debate Hartzler and defend his support of Nancy Pelosi’s agenda, but on Tuesday he finally showed.  However, he spent the entire time talking about Ft. Leonard Wood and nothing else.  He addressed none of the issues, he made no reference to the lies his campaign ads are perpetrating about Hartzler, and overall he just made himself look bad.  …no wonder he has refused to appear with Hartzler and defend his views…

Anyway, here are videos of each of their statements.  They are about ten minutes long, but you should watch at least a minute or two of each so that you can see the difference in substance of the two candidates…

Help MO-04 clean the “Skeleton” out of its closet!!! (Part 5)

Here in my home district (MO-04) we have been sending Ike “the Skeleton” Skelton to represent us in the U.S. Congress.  He has duped us with claims of being an independent voice for us in congress, but the fact is he has voted with Speaker Nancy Pelosi 95% of the time.  Due to his “Pelosi lap-dog”  status he is getting huge amounts of campaign funding to defend his seat, but we are fighting back.  Despite the false attack ads Skelton continues to run he and his challenger, Vicky Hartzler, are in a virtual tie, according to the polls.

This coming Wednesday is Vicky Hartzler’s birthday, and in honor of this occasion her campaign is holding a moneybomb, “$20.10 for victory in 2010.”  (This is also the point of the awesome new graphic on the sidebar of this blog.)  This your chance to help us “clean the ‘skeleton’ out of our closet!!!

And from her campaign, ”As a special treat for the moneybomb, Vicky Hartzler is counting down the days this week with the Top Five Reasons to Spike Ike this November:”

Reason #1: Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!

As everyone knows, our economy is in a rough patch and is not creating enough jobs even to keep up with the number of people newly entering the job market each month.  Congressman Skelton has not fought for policies that create jobs.  On the contrary, he supports policies that destroy jobs and weaken our economy.

  • Mr. Skelton votes in support of the liberal Pelosi/Obama economic agenda by voting for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.  The Pelosi agenda includes a European-style Value-Added Tax (V.A.T.) that will increase the price of goods at every stage of production.
  • Mr. Skelton voted for higher deficits and debt through Obama/Pelosi budgets, stimulus and bailouts.
  • Mr. Skelton voted for Cap and Trade, which would levy a huge regressive tax on Missourians.
  • Mr. Skelton voted to adjourn Congress without extending the Bush tax cuts.
  • Mr. Skelton and the Democrats even failed to produce a budget for this fiscal year, one of Congress’s most basic responsibilities.

Unlike Mr. Skelton, I know how jobs are created.  As co-owner of Hartzler Equipment Company, which has three stores in the 4th Congressional District, I’ve run a business and I’ve had to make payroll.  When it comes to creating jobs, I know that the only things that will work are free enterprise, a stable policy environment, and the proven genius of America.  It is not the reckless federal spending, job-destroying tax increases, takeovers of private business, bailouts for irresponsible decisions, ruinous deficits and debt, and threats of future tax hikes and even more regulation backed by the liberal-voting Ike Skelton.

I also taught home economics, where my students learned that Step One is balancing income and spending. If you earn $2,000 per month, you can’t spend $3,000. What about this does Washington not understand?  America’s economy has been the leader of the world for generations because America’s genius is freedom, hard work, education, and enterprise. After the plain and terrible failure of Skelton’s chosen policies, we know too well that printing press money, borrowing more money from China, pork barrel spending, “stimulus” bills and broken promises of jobs will not work and must not continue.

I am committed to reducing the tax burden in order to stimulate job creation.  I have a record of proven resolve on low taxes.  In the Missouri legislature, I worked for lower taxes on families, job creators and seniors, and voted against every major tax increase bill that came our way.  Last November I signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge sponsored by Americans for Tax Reform promising to not support any tax increases.  In addition, I also have signed pledges to eliminate the estate tax and to oppose the V.A.T.   In Congress, I will support an immediate end to the wasteful and inefficient pork-barrel spending, a Balanced Budget Amendment and line-item veto, and a freeze on new spending except for our national defense, Medicare, and Social Security.

I will be a representative of the people of the 4th District, creating a pro-job environment to replace the reckless spending that is so prevalent in Washington.  I will start on Day One, in January 2011, VOTING to build a future of growth and opportunity for Americans and their families.  The out-of-control federal deficit is a national emergency and is hindering job creation.  Most of us in the Fourth District know this.  It is time for a change—the kind that will restore fiscal responsibility to our nation’s finances and safeguard our children’s futureIf you agree that jobs and economic security are the #1 problem facing America, please give $20.10 to our victory in 2010!

Reason #2: We Deserve Better!

Congressman Skelton made a hard left turn in 2006.  This was the year Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats took control of the House for the first time in 12 years.  Mr. Skelton gained a committee chairmanship that year and ever since he has been a reliable vote in Pelosi’s back pocket, ready to pull out if needed.  His turn has only made things worse.  I think the voters of the 4th District deserve better.  Consider:

  • Mr. Skelton voted IN FAVOR of cap-and-trade. This job-killing energy legislation would cause increased taxes of nearly $900 billion; higher prices on energy in virtually every form; higher gasoline prices; higher prices for almost any good or service; more good U.S. jobs lost to foreign nations; more than $50 billion in farm income destroyed, and monthly utility costs for homes and businesses that rise by more than $1,000 a year.  Plus, the effects would fall harder on those with low incomes than high incomes. We can’t afford this, particularly in the current economic situation.
  • Mr. Skelton voted IN FAVOR of a 10% increase in spending across-the-board as soon as President Obama took office.  He then voted for spending almost $1 trillion in so-called “stimulus” on “shovel-ready” projects, even though Obama acknowledged yesterday that there was no such thing as a shovel-ready project.  Mr. Skelton is willing to waste YOUR money on whatever the Democrat leadership wants.

I believe that we need to fix the deficit by controlling federal spending and not by raising taxes.  I believe that we need to help Americans find jobs first. I believe that we need to stop wasting the voters’ money on pet projects that do not benefit anyone but a few well-connected insiders.

If you believe, as I do, that we deserve better, please send $20.10 for our Vick-tory in 2010 !

And if you can’t concentrate long enough to read that due to your severe and pervasive ADD here is a video version in which the “Skeleton” tells us where we can stick our opinion of his position as a Pelosi lap-dog…

Hehehehehe!!!!  A truly AWESOME ad…

We can win this if we show up at the polling places come Nov. 2.

Bonus: Guess what, the level of racism in the Tea Party seems to have been greatly exaggerated. Wow! No Joke…

Reason #3: Keep our Military Strong

Congressman Skelton believes that his strongest qualification for retaining his House seat is his support for the military.  The truth is that no matter who wins in 2010, the military will be well-represented by Missouri’s 4th district.   House Republican Leader John Boehner pledged his support today to secure me an assignment on the important House Armed Services Committee!

“Vicky Hartzler has my full support for a seat on the House Armed Services Committee,” said House Republican Leader John Boehner. “America’s warriors and their families need a leader like Vicky Hartzler who listens, understands the challenges they face, and is eager to address them. Vicky also knows that the policies coming out of Washington lately – ‘stimulus’ spending sprees, costly mandates, and government takeovers – have failed our armed services. That’s why I look forward to working with Vicky, the Republican leadership, and the Members of the Steering Committee to place her on the committee at the earliest possible opportunity.”

I am dedicated to the preservation of our vital military bases and ensuring that they have the best equipment, latest technology, and proactive leadership that recognizes and funds all possible avenues of threat mitigation, including a strong missile defense. Military veterans make up 14.2% of the population of the 4th District and I am committed to keeping the support for both the active and retired military a priority.

With a seat on the Armed Services Committee, I will have the ability to help protect our armed services and oversee any legislation affecting the funding and oversight of our national defense.  Our first-rank bases, Fort Leonard Wood in Pulaski County and Whiteman Air Force Base, where the 21 original B-2 bombers flew to drop precision-targeted bombs in Afghanistan, are well-positioned to meet and succeed, and gain missions from other bases that are less important than our two world-class facilities.

The VITAL difference will be that in a Republican-led House, the Armed Services Committee on which I would sit would back the Department of Defense 100%.  The Armed Services Committee on which Mr. Skelton sits is in an anti-defense, budget slashing House.  Although the congressman claims that only he can save the 4th district bases from realignment or closure, the fact is he does not have that ability.

    • Ike Skelton does not protect his constituents from BRAC.  When Whiteman AFB was on the BRAC list in 2005, he refused to do anything to help a group of concerned citizens in his district and instead suggested that they hire a Washington lobbyist to help them.
    • Mr. Skelton never wins when it matters – Even though he opposes repealing DADT, he would have held a DADT-repeal vote if Nancy Pelosi had asked, and he helped kill the measure without a committee vote when Pelosi realized she couldn’t win it.
    • Mr. Skelton won’t stand up to Nancy Pelosi on the enormous $1 trillion in defense cuts planned by Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi to pay for their big-government agenda.  Cuts that large cannot spare the 4th District no matter how much seniority Mr. Skelton holds.

And don’t forget, Mr. Skelton voted in favor of setting a timeline for troop withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan.  These are not the actions of someone who supports our military 100%.

I will be a stalwart advocate for our current and former soldiers and their families.  If military support is important to you, please consider sending $20.10 for a conservative, pro-military victory in 2010 !

John Boehner’s pledge to secure a seat on the Armed Services Committee for Vicky Hartzler is huge, as it puts another nail in the coffin of Skelton’s argument that Hartzler is “bad for the military.”
