Random NFL related video…

This weekend my chiefs got crushed, so we won’t talk about that…

Instead check out this loser Jets coach tripping a dolphins player…

Chiefs 3-0!!! (No Kidding!)

My chiefs are rocking it!  They moved to 3-0 (for the first time since 2003) with a great, all-around beat-down of the 49ers yesterday.   Many people were saying the 49ers were the better team in their Monday night loss to the defending Super Bowl champion Saints, and yet they never even stood a chance against the chiefs.  This game had everything: trick plays, one handed catches, suffocating defense, and a rocking Arrowhead Stadium.  The final score was 31-10 and that score makes it seem closer than it actually was!  Haha!  Can you tell I’m excited?

Here are the highlights.

13 more days…

What is in 13 more days?

Well I’m glad you asked.  In thirteen more days, July 29 to be exact, my beloved Kansas City Chiefs start training camp!

Thats right soak it up.  The NFL season is closing in on us!  Woohoo!   Now as you quiet your gleeful shouting and set your computer screen upright once more, consider my source of excitement…

The Chiefs are my team, and have not had a playoff victory in my young memory.  However, this past offseason they have made moves that look like they may be turning the corner. We hope!  Thats the thing about fans of the KC teams, the Chiefs and Royals, every offseason we build up our hopes and every season we get let down.  Whether the team starts awful and immediately crushes our hopes or waits and leads us on till the very end the result is always the same.  Our hopes are dashed.  Now don’t get me wrong, its not as bad as Cleveland; but it does weed out the fair weather fans.

This time though I think there could be a real reason for hope.  The new Chiefs brain-trust is in place with Coach Haley and GM Pioli entering their second year, and new O-coordinator, Charlie Weis, and D-coordinator, Romeo Crennel, coming on the scene.  These are all proven leaders who know how to win.  Add to that the exciting draft class that is coming in along with our emerging star running-back Jamaal Charles, there are reasons for excitement.  Although it may be a bit soon to be calling a Chiefs’ Superbowl, considering their relatively weak division, the AFC West, they have a legit shot at the division title.  Call me crazy but I’m excited.

Hopefully I won’t be forced to come back down to earth until at least January…

I haven’t felt like writing for a couple of days so today I thought I would try a bit of a change of pace. Hence some ramblings about my great source of escape, the NFL.
