Book Review: The Blood of Lambs, by Kamal Saleem (A must read)
Today I finished one of the best, most-informative books I have ever read. It is entitled The Blood of Lambs and is the autobiography of, an American and former terrorist, Kamal Saleem (a pseudonym, of course). This is one of those books that bears out the saying, “Truth is stranger than fiction.” In this book Mr. Saleem tells his story, a story in which he was recruited into Yasser Arafat’s Fatah faction at the age of seven and, at that age, smuggled weapons into Israel for Fatah. A story in which he was trained as a child how to kill, how to build bombs, and how important it was that the world be cleansed of all infidels. In his early teens he continued his terrorist activities and even went to Libya and worked in Muammar Gaddafi’s terrorist training camps, teaching insurrectionists from all over the world how to wage a war of terror on their enemies. Later on he helped the Afghanis in their fight against the Soviets. Once, with the help of Saddam Hussein, he stole surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) from Syria and, with financing of a wealthy Saudi sheikh, transported them to Afghanistan where he used them to take down Soviet aircraft. He then tells of how he traveled around Europe and the Middle-East wooing and blackmailing millions of dollars from wealthy sheikhs to fund his terrorist brethren. Finally he came to the U.S. to infiltrate the Great Satan. He recruited on college campuses and among the poor, finding many willing converts. Then, when he least expected it he experience a life changing event that stopped him in his tracks, and eventually led to a conversion from Islam to Christianity. Since the 9/11 attacks he has begun to speak out, telling his story and warning Americans that the terrorists aren’t on their way to America, they are already here. They’re just waiting for the right moment to strike.
