Playing I-Spy with the gulf oil spill…

Our government has a long history of losing and/or wasting our money…

For example today I found this article about the fact that our government has seemingly misplaced $8.7 billion.   $8.7 billion?!?!!! Do you know how many dollar cheeseburgers you can buy at McDonald’s for that kind of coin?  …Thats right boys and girls 8.7 billion cheeseburgers… …this in making me hungry…    I wonder if the guy who found 57 states in the U.S. could have figured that one out?     …If they’re gonna lose it anyway, the least they could do is lose it somewhere where I can find it…    …Don’t worry I wouldn’t spend it ALL on cheeseburgers…

But this is all just bringing me to my main topic which is…  …Now they seem to have misplaced a large percentage of the BP oil spill

In this article from the Daily Caller we learn that, “At its peak last month, the oil slick was the size of Kansas, but it has been rapidly shrinking, now down to the size of New Hampshire.” Thats some major shrinkage!

On May 3rd Rush Limbaugh said, “The oil spill will break up. I’m not trying to minimize it here. But ecology does take care of itself, the planet does. Why all the panic? Oh, a crisis. Well, it’s gonna break up. It’s not going to be a giant glob when it hits, but it’s going to pose problems. I’m not gonna say it’s not going to pose problems, but he’s saying that as it breaks up it will break down. You know, seawater is pretty tough stuff. Try living in it for a while.” And there was OUTRAGE… With folks calling Rush “Ignorant, Stupid, Liar, Etc.” …

Now guess what?  …Rush is being validated…

In the ABC article on this story we read,  “…experts say an astonishing amount has disappeared, reabsorbed into the environment.   ‘[It's] mother nature doing her job,’ said Ed Overton, a professor of environmental studies at Louisiana State University.”   …Oh the insanity!!!  This must cut those Rush haters to the core, a professor of “environmental studies” is echoing Rush’s sentiments exactly…

And thats not all, on Yahoo News we read that Jane Lubchenco, the head of the U.S. Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), said,  “We know that a significant amount of the oil has dispersed and been biodegraded by naturally occurring bacteria, Bacteria that break down oil are naturally abundant in the Gulf of Mexico, in large part because of the warm water there and the conditions afforded by nutrients and oxygen availability.” No way!  Naturally occurring bacteria that break down oil?  Why haven’t we been hearing about this? Probably because it doesn’t make as exciting a story for the Media as  “Hurricane will leave ‘an oily residue on everything’ “ or “Rush is Stupid”   Why else wouldn’t they jump on reporting something that might give hope that things aren’t as bad as they look?   I guess its like the old adage, “Crisis sells.”

And that brings me to my final point.  When you think of the spill, what do you picture?  …Half of the Gulf black with oil?  From all the screeching in the Media about the “horrible crisis” thats pretty much what came to my mind…  But heres a little something to put your mind at ease…   Courtesy of CNBC, “…the amount of oil spilled - if the Gulf of Mexico was the size of Cowboys Stadium – would be about the size of a 24 ounce can of beer.” Thats not even enough oil for the average Cowboy’s fan, or any NFL fan for that matter, to properly begin to tailgate…     Heres a great visual courtesy of  CNBC…

Business as usual

This article reveals yet another example of the federal government obstructing efforts by the people in the gulf to protect themselves and their land from oil washing towards them…

Brilliant!!!

Wow this is great…

The federal government has halted the dredging to build sand berms along the Louisiana gulf shore…

The order came down from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Dept., “ The department says one area where sand is being dredged is a sensitive section of the Chandeleur Islands”  My first question is, Sensitive to being dredged for sand but not to being soaked with oil?  I don’t know if the berms would protect those islands, but it seems they would be more active about find ways to stop the spread of oil rather than stopping the people of Louisiana from protecting themselves from the oil…

This is just another example of the seeming efforts of the federal govm’t to slow the efforts to contain the spill…

Think I’m crazy?  What about shutting down oil skimming barges in the gulf to check for…  …wait for it…  …fire extinguishers and life jackets!!!

Yeah while emergency clean up of an oil spill is underway lets shut down all the tools we have for MINOR safety inspections…  Theres no ulterior motive there…   YEAH RIGHT!!!

Louisiana says Obama handling of spill worse than Bush/Katrina

A poll conducted by left wing pollsters Public Policy Polling shows that Louisianans think Obama is doing a worse job of handling the gulf oil spill than Bush did in handling the Katrina disaster…

WOW!   and here I thought all the negative opinions about THE CHOSEN ONE were held by extremists like Rush, Hanity, Fox News, etc…  you know the folks on Obama’s  “enemies list”…
whats he gonna do now? add the citizens of Louisiana to that list?

On another note…  how does Obama respond to being told he is doing a worse job than the “Dumb Cowboy” ?   It must cut him to the core…  HAHA! …the mere thought makes me smile..

On top of the situation since day one?

First post here goes….

In the past couple weeks whenever the REGIME has started catching heat for their response to the Deepwater spill in the gulf they have responded with something to the effect of, “We have been on top of the situation since day one.”  …Really?… Like everyone else the first thing I think of is the serial vacationing of the first family (how do you stay on top of a developing disaster while getting all that family time and RR?).   But the thing that really gets to me is that our government has been most responsible for the current extent of the damage.   Don’t believe me?  Consider…

Three days after the spill occurred the Dutch government offered to provide us with ships outfitted with skimmers, but they were rebuffed by the REGIME… within the past week four U.S. ships have been outfitted with Dutch booms.  Each of those ships will be able to remove about 20,000 tons of oil and slop.  Imagine how much of this stuff could have already been cleaned up if the original offer had been accepted…  …this just one example of foreign offers of help that have been reject by our all-knowing leader (12 nations and the U.N. have been rejected, at least that we know of)…

Also, why can we not listen to people who know what needs to be done?  Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal consulted experts and advocated a plan to protect the Louisiana marshlands which included building sand barriers off the coast, but he has been rebuffed since the beginning.  It causes you to wonder if his ideas would have been more readily accepted by the REGIME if he he had possessed the proper party affiliation…  …In my opinion this is not much of a stretch…

So in conclusion…  …if ignoring a problem, then once you are FORCED to address it, hindering the efforts to deal with it is staying on top of it “from day one”  then I guess thats what the REGIME has done…

…but we all know thats not the case…

…due to arrogance and flat out ignorance the administration has managed to make complete jokes of themselves, but unfortunately it has come at the expense of those who live and work in the gulf region and that is what makes this a complete tragedy…
